An artichoke is like a botanical sculpture, standing firmly upright on its stalk with 
overlapping bracts in a compact geometry, crowned with a purple plume – as depicted in detail on this Artichoke 1/2 Pint Mug. We decided to create this mug in homage to the talented botanical illustrators of the 18th and 19th centuries: the ""golden age"" of botanical illustration. The drawings served as scientific documentation and artistic appreciation, showcasing the beauty and intricacy of the subject matter.
