Our Tried-and-True Apple Crisp!
This is a tried and true recipe that I make whenever I need to use up some apples. I like this recipe for a couple of reasons. Firstly, no flour and if you use gluten free oats, it's good for all those folks who can't eat gluten. Secondly, we love the topping on this crisp. It's nice and crunchy, which goes beautifully with the syrupy apples underneath. It's one of those recipes that has your home smelling so good and it's really not too much effort.
Let's bake. . .
Apple Crisp
Into a greased baking dish add in
6-8 peeled, sliced apples
sprinkle with the juice of 1/2 a lemon.
In a bowl, mix together and mix this into your apples.
1/2 c. b. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix together and spread over the apple mixture.
1 1/2 quick oats
1 1/2 b. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
Bake at 350 for about 1/2 hour, until bubbly and lightly browned.
I like to let mine sit for 1/2 hour or so, but up to you if you how you serve it.
Serve with ice cream.
Enjoy!
