The smell of cinnamon buns is one of life's little pleasures. It's so warm and comforting and you know something delicious is going to be coming out of the oven. This recipe is a knock off based on the 'land of nod' cinnamon bun recipe that I make every Christmas. I had some extra frozen dough that I wanted to use up and wanted to try a pull apart bread. This is a bit more work than the land of nod. but the results are fantastic. A bit more showy than the the land of nod, but equally delicious. If you want to use this as a dessert instead of a morning treat, try serving it with ice cream and caramel sauce - takes it over the top!
Pull Apart Cinnamon Bread
Let a package of frozen buns thaw (there were 20 in my package of premade, frozen buns)
When thawed, press them into squares - doesn't have to be perfect, just even in size.
Onto each square, spread
Butter Sprinkle of vanilla pudding mix Sprinkle of cinnamon Brown sugar (give it a good covering - don't go light on this)
Stack the squares into fours (I find this number easy to life into my pan)
Add the stacks to a greased loaf pan, standing them upright.
Let rise until they have filled the pan (I left mine for the afternoon)
Bake at 350 until golden brown (about 1/2 hour) ** put the loaf pan on a baking sheet so the butter doesn't leak on the bottom of your stove.
Drizzle icing over top.
I used a very simple glaze of icing sugar and milk.
Serve these by themselves or with ice cream and caramel sauce for a very decadent dessert!
