So. . . I had some Hunt's tomato sauce to use up. Went looking on the Hunt's website and found this. Unstuffed Peppers - sounded good, seemed easy, low key ingredients - done. This recipe comes together so fast - 1/2 hour at the most, less if you've done your chopping ahead of time and it's really tasty! Serve this with a big chunk of fresh bread and your dinner is done!
Let's cook. . .
Unstuffed Peppers
Into your frypan add and cook until the beef is not longer pink
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 - 2 c. chopped green or red peppers or both (use as much as you like)
Add in and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
2 cans (8 oz) hunts tomatoe sauce (this is what I used, but any tomato sauce will work.
2 tbsp. tomato paste
3/4 c. water
1 1/2 c. instant rice
Remove from heat and top with
1/2 c. chedder cheese
Let stand for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.
Serve and . . .
Enjoy!
