Do you ever buy something and then wonder what you were going to do with it? This is me with Skor bits. I seemed to be collecting them - whenever they were on sale, I seemed to think I needed to buy them, lol. So, time to find a recipe to use them up! Here's what I found - Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. How could this not be good? And really, they're delish. Nice texture, good sweetness, chocolate and toffee and pretty easy to put together. Rating - thumbs up from all my testers:)
So, let's get baking . . .
Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars.
Mix together 2 1/3 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 2/3 c. b. sugar
Grate 3/4 c. cold butter
Mix the butter into the flour mixture until pebbly.
Add in and mix together 2 eggs, slightly beaten
Add in 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
Set aside 1 1/2 c. of the dough.
Press the remaining dough into a parchment lined 9"x13" baking dish.
Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and pour over top, getting as even as possible 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
Using 1 package of toffee bits (save 1/3 c) sprinkle over the top of the condensed milk.
Dollop the remaining dough over the toffee bits.
Sprinkle over top 1/2 c. chocolate chips 1/3 c. toffee bits
