What did the almond say to the pecan at the candy store? "Let's stick together and go nuts with sweetness!"
And that takes us to the recipe, lol. We're making candied nuts! These are simple to make, perfect to have on hand for your charcuterie boards, sitting in a bowl for your New Year's entertaining or a really nice addition to a salad.
Let's get to it . . .
Candied Nuts
In a small bowl, mix to combine 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt (I use fine sea salt)
Whisk together 1 large egg white 1 tbsp. water
3 cups of raw nuts - you can use all the same or do a mixture. I used cashew, pecan halves and almond.
Add the egg white mixture to the nuts, making sure they are all well coated.
Add the sugar mix and give them a good stir.
Spread on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake at 250 for for about 40-50 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes - they should be lightly golden.
